Sangiovese Rosé

Beverage

Sangiovese Rosé

Sangiovese rosé (Italian rosato) offers cherry, orange peel, and herbal notes with lively acid and light body from short maceration of Tuscany’s great red grape. Colour is typically light ruby-pink; tannin is minimal but acid keeps the wine food-ready. It reflects central Italian rosato tradition more than pale Provençal fashion, though modern pale styles also exist. Deglaze tomato-herb chicken, white bean dishes, and seafood with Sangiovese rosato; the cherry-acid profile matches Italian pantry flavours. Use in light pan sauces for pork loin. Dry bottles only for savoury reductions—sweet pinks fight olive oil and garlic.
