Italian Rosato
Italian rosato is the national category of dry pink wine—cherry and red-berry fruit, lively acid, and styles from pale northern pinks to deeper southern and Cerasuolo-adjacent colours, made from Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Negroamaro, Nebbiolo, and many others. Tradition treats rosato as a meal wine with antipasti, pizza, and grilled fish rather than only a poolside drink. Regional names and grapes matter, but the culinary role is consistent: dry, food-first pink. Deglaze tomato-herb pans, seafood, and light meats with dry Italian rosato; acid mirrors Italian cooking’s brightness. Prefer DOC dry labels over sweet export pinks. Short reductions keep cherry perfume; long boils flatten regional character into generic wine base.
