Beverage
Montepulciano
Montepulciano is a deeply coloured central Italian red (especially Abruzzo)—black cherry, spice, and approachable tannins—not to be confused with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which is Sangiovese-based. Everyday Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is plush and food-ready; riserva styles firm up with oak and age. Reliable for meatballs, grilled sausages, pizza, and rustic braises. It reduces cleanly without extreme tannin spikes; choose dry, not residual-sweet commercial bottles for savoury sauces.
