Grain
Lokwan
C tier
Lokwan is an Indian wheat quality type associated with hardish, protein-rich grain from central and western growing areas, used for sturdy chapati atta and some maida blends. Like Sharbati, the name functions as a market identity for preferred milling lots as much as a single pedigree cultivar. Flour from Lokwan-type wheat gives slightly stronger, more elastic doughs for everyday rotis and commercial flatbread production. It is widely sold in Indian retail as named atta.
