Keemun

A tier

Keemun (Qimen) is a refined Chinese black tea from Qimen County in Anhui, made chiefly from small-leaf Camellia sinensis sinensis processed with careful withering, rolling, full oxidation, and firing. Unlike bold Assam-type breakfast teas, Keemun aims for aromatic complexity—orchid, dried fruit, light smoke or cocoa—and a mellow, winey body. Historic grades such as Keemun Mao Feng, Hao Ya, and Congou styles reflect leaf integrity and craft level. The cup is smooth, fragrant, and moderately strong, often enjoyed plain or with minimal milk so floral and stone-fruit notes remain clear. Keemun is a classic component of some English breakfast blends and a connoisseur black tea for afternoon drinking and gift tins.
