Meat
Flemish Giant
B tier
Flemish Giant is one of the largest rabbit breeds, historically from Flanders, kept for meat, fur, and spectacle. Mature weights far exceed commercial fryers; meat rabbits from this breed are often taken younger or used in crosses to add size. When processed at appropriate ages, meat is substantial with a slightly firmer grain than small fryers—suited to long braises and large roasts for groups. Very old giants become tough; best culinary practice treats them as mature lagomorphs needing moisture and time.
