Vegetable
Kennebec
B tier
Kennebec is a mid-century American white with smooth skin and versatile medium-high dry matter—long favoured for chips, fries, and home all-purpose cooking. It stores reasonably and peels clean for processing lines. Flavour is classic potato without yellow-butter marketing or coloured flesh trends. Fry, mash, or bake depending on size and age. Gardeners still plant it for yield and relatively manageable disease notes versus older susceptible types. Less fashionable than Yukon Gold in retail branding, still a workhorse where seed and fresh packs remain available.
