Fruit
Stanley
A tier
Stanley is a blue-purple European prune-plum with freestone yellow-green flesh, high sugar when fully ripe, and a shape suited to drying as well as fresh eating. Flavour is rich and sweet with mild acid—less bright than Japanese salad plums, more concentrated and jammy. Trees are hardy and productive in cooler temperate zones. Dry into home prunes, bake into cakes, or eat fresh when soft. A standard recommended prune-type for Northern gardens. Bloom on the skin is normal; polish only if you want shine for a fruit bowl.
