Sugar Snap Type
A tier
Sugar snap peas combine edible thick pods with swelling sweet peas inside—a 1970s breeding breakthrough that eats like a cross of snow and shelling peas. Raw crunch is outstanding; light cooking keeps snap. Strings vary by cultivar and maturity. Eat raw, sauté briefly, or blanch. Peak when pods are bright and filled but not starchy. Remove strings on older pods. Kids often prefer snaps to shelled peas. Waste less by matching cut size to Sugar Snap Type's natural Plump Sweet; uneven pieces are the usual reason Raw Snack disappoints.
