Yellow Passion Fruit

S tier

Yellow passion fruit (flavicarpa) is typically larger, more vigorous, and often more acidic than purple types—golden shells with vivid aromatic pulp used heavily for juice processing. Fresh eating is excellent when ripe but can be sharper. Disease resistance traits made it important as rootstock and crop in tropics. Process into juice and concentrates; sweeten thoughtfully. Fresh halves need peak ripeness. Industrial Brazil and other tropics lean yellow for volume. Cross-pollination dynamics differ—know your clone.
