Shell wrinkles as it ripens and sweetens. Flavour is the reference “passionfruit” of beverages and desserts worldwide. Halve and spoon; strain for seedless curd if desired. Wrinkled fruit is often better than smooth purple footballs. Juice concentrates aroma in cocktails and pavlova. Vines need support and often pollinators. Yellow forms (flavicarpa) differ in size and disease traits.
