Mexican Oregano

Herb

Mexican Oregano

A tier

Mexican oregano is Lippia graveolens (verbena family), not Origanum—citrusy, earthy, and essential to Mexican chilli sauces, beans, and salsas with a flavour Greek oregano cannot copy. Use in pozole, black beans, and adobo. Dried is standard. Do not swap 1:1 with Mediterranean oregano in either direction.
