Victoria Nile perch is provenance-led Lates niloticus from Lake Victoria export fisheries—the form most Europeans and Middle Eastern buyers know as “Nile perch.” Expect wide boneless fillets, mild flavour, and variable quality by plant and cold chain. Best for grilling steaks, oven bakes, and battered portions. Seek MSC or equivalent where available and support fisheries working on bycatch and local food security issues. Texture should be pearly and firm, not cottony.
