Japanese mint (hakka) refers to Mentha arvensis types selected in East Asia for high menthol—used in Japanese and Chinese sweets, medicines, and some savoury accents. Intense cooling; a little leaf or oil goes far. Not a tabbouleh mint. Specialty Asian groceries may sell hakka.
