Field mint (Mentha arvensis), also called corn mint, is a high-menthol mint important in Asian mint oil production and some regional cuisines—stronger and more medicinal than spearmint. Indian and Chinese cookery may use related field mints; dose lightly. Much commercial menthol historically derived from arvensis oil.
