Norwegian Red

B tier

Norwegian Red (NRF) is Norway’s modern composite dairy breed, famous for polled genetics and strong health and fertility traits. Milk is mild and balanced—high enough solids for cheese and liquid markets without Jersey richness. It underpins much of Norway’s cooperative dairy supply. Norwegian Red milk behaves as premium commodity dairy: clean in coffee, steady in yoghurt, competent in cheese vats. Outside Norway the breed is used in crossbreeding; pure NRF milk remains mostly a Nordic product.
