Kiwi Cross describes New Zealand’s common Holstein-Friesian × Jersey crossbred dairy cow, optimised for grazing systems. Milk solids per hectare matter more than pure volume; the cross lifts fat and protein above pure Friesian while keeping hybrid vigour. Flavour often shows grass-fed sweetness and creaminess. NZ export milk powder, butter, and cheese draw heavily on Kiwi Cross herds. Seasonal spring flush milk is lush; late-season milk is stronger. In coffee and baking, expect richer mouthfeel than pure Holstein liquid milk when fat is not standardised down.
