B tier

Kenana cattle from the White Nile region of Sudan are among Africa’s better indigenous dairy zebu. Milk yield under heat is respectable for landrace genetics; flavour is full and slightly sweet, feeding Sudanese fresh milk, fermented milks, and household ghee-type products. Kenana milk matters for regional food security more than export branding. Development programmes use Kenana genetics to improve African tropical dairy. Cook with it as you would rich warm-climate cow’s milk—boiled teas, porridges, and fresh cheeses.
