Dairy Shorthorn
B tier
Dairy Shorthorn is the milk-focused continuation of English Shorthorn dairy lines (closely allied to Milking Shorthorn naming in some countries). Milk offers balanced fat and protein with a mild, creamy traditional English dairy flavour suited to liquid milk and territorial cheeses. Farmhouse cheddar, butter, and bottle milk historically drew on Dairy Shorthorn herds. Modern keepers market breed-specific milk as an alternative to Holstein blandness—still gentle, but with better solids than pure volume genetics.
