Dairy
Barbari
B tier
Barbari is a compact, often white or spotted Indian goat valued for both meat and a respectable milk stream in small city and village dairies. Does are thrifty, breed frequently, and give milk that is adequate for household dahi and tea even when forage is ordinary. The milk is lighter in volume than Jamnapari but easier to keep in dense urban backyards. Flavour is mild-to-medium goat. Barbari suits cooks who want occasional fresh goat milk and soft cheese without managing a large dual-purpose frame.

Colonial livestock notes listed Barbari among versatile small dairy-meat goats.
Intensive smallholder projects promoted Barbari for quick turnover and milk.
