Dairy
Alpine
A tier
Alpine (French Alpine) dairy goats are hardy, multi-coloured high producers whose milk balances volume with solids useful for cheese. Flavour is clean goat dairy—more character than the mildest Saanen milk when pasture-raised, excellent for classic French chèvre. Alpine milk is a cheesemaker’s workhorse for logs, crottins, and aged goat tommes. It also drinks well pasteurised. French and American goat dairies both rely on Alpine genetics for dependable lactation.
