Merino de Palas

C tier

Merino de Palas is a Romanian Merino strain associated with the Palas research and breeding centre near Constanța, selected for fine wool under south-eastern European steppe and arable conditions. Meat production is secondary but supplies local markets with light-to-medium lambs. Lamb from Merino de Palas flocks is mild and lean, typical of fine-wool bloodlines—best as young carcasses for roasting and stewing in regional cuisines. Crossing with meat sires is common when heavier conformation is required for abattoir grids.
