Kooka

Kooka is a thin-tailed sheep breed of Sindh in Pakistan, typically white with a semi-lopping ear carriage, kept by smallholders for meat and some milk under irrigated and semi-arid village conditions. It is lighter framed than the great fat-tailed breeds of the region. Local lamb is mild-to-medium and cooked in biryanis, nihari-style long braises, and everyday karahi dishes. Availability outside Sindh is limited; within its range Kooka supplies household and market meat rather than export chilled trade.
