Harnai sheep are a medium-sized breed from the Harnai area of Balochistan, typically white with a fat tail and semi-coarse fleece, raised for meat under highland and foothill conditions. They contribute to Pakistan’s diverse suite of provincial landraces. Local lamb is full-flavoured and best in traditional roasted and slow-cooked dishes of the region. Carcass weights are moderate; availability is almost entirely domestic market and household slaughter rather than formal export grading.
