Hong Kong kumquat (F. hindsii) bears tiny pealike orange fruits more ornamental and wild-type than commercial snacking nagami—seedy, intense, used historically and by specialists. Peel is thin; plants are spiny. Culinary use is limited but real for the curious. Occasional novelty preserves or garnish; mainly a botanical kumquat. Not a substitute for plump grocery kumquats by volume. Interesting species edge of the group.
