Fruit
Monty
B tier
Monty is a historic New Zealand green kiwifruit with medium fruit, productive vines, and a place in early cultivar line-ups before global Hayward monoculture. Flesh is green and tangy-sweet when ripe; fruit size is generally smaller than modern Hayward packs. Today it is mainly a heritage name for collectors and breeding history. Use like any green kiwi if you find fruit or grow it. Storage and size limitations explain commercial fade. Interesting for biodiversity plantings.
