Fruit
Marge
B tier
Marge is a less ubiquitous American elderberry cultivar kept in some collections and farm lists—dark process berries, typical musky cooked flavour, and bush habit suited to hedgerow culture. It adds diversity beside Adams, Johns, and York rather than dominating acreage. Fruit is for cooking, not handful fresh eating. Use in mixed cultivar plantings for pollen and harvest spread. Syrup and jelly are primary. Confirm stock true-to-name from specialist nurseries. Same stem-stripping and cook-through rules as other elders.
