Orpington eggs are light brown to tinted, medium in number compared with Leghorns, but often praised for rich flavour from heavy, calm dual-purpose hens. Buff Orpingtons in particular supply the farmhouse egg basket with substantial, satisfying breakfast eggs. Yolks can be notably deep on good feed. Not the choice for maximum dozen-per-week volume, but excellent for quality-focused small flocks.
