Coturnix Quail
A tier
Coturnix quail eggs are the speckled commercial standard of quail egg production—tiny, yolk-forward, and mild-rich, from Japanese coturnix strains bred for lay. They are what nearly every jar of pickled quail eggs and restaurant soft-boiled garnish uses. Boil 2–3 minutes for soft centres. Far more practical than wild quail eggs, with steady farm supply year-round in many countries.
