Cochin eggs are medium brown eggs from the fluffy, heavy Chinese-derived breed kept more for brooding and ornament than peak lay. When they produce, eggs are pleasant, full-flavoured chicken eggs—worth collecting from pet Cochins rather than building a business on. Seasonal dips are common; enjoy them as a soft by-product of keeping gentle giants. Not ideal if dozen-a-day volume is the goal.
