Fruit
Monthong
S tier
Monthong (Golden Pillow) is Thailand’s most commercially dominant durian—large fruit, thick mild-sweet arils with relatively mild odour, and a creamy texture that appeals to export buyers and first-time eaters. Fibres are moderate; bitterness is low compared with some Malaysian prestige clones. The name appears on fresh fruit, frozen paste, and snacks across Thai trade. Ideal for ice cream, pancakes, and approachable fresh plates. Connoisseurs sometimes call it mild next to Musang King, which is exactly why hotels and airlines prefer it. Fully ripe Monthong yields along seams without turning watery.
