Swedish Blue

B tier

Swedish Blue is a hardy Scandinavian dual-purpose duck with blue-grey plumage and a solid, meaty frame suited to cold climates. Table quality is honest and robust—good fat for roasting, flavourful dark meat, and a carcass that stands up to dill, potato, and lingonberry pairings. Slow-roast or confit legs; use rendered fat for root vegetables. The breed is less industrial than Pekin but more meat-minded than pure layers, making it a strong choice for Nordic-style farm cooking when available.
