Stevens
S tier
Stevens is the workhorse mid-late cranberry cultivar dominating much of modern North American acreage—high yield, good colour, and reliable processing quality for sauce and juice. Berries are medium-large, firm, and uniformly red when ripe. Bred for commercial bog systems rather than heirloom romance. Factory sauce, concentrate, and mixed fresh bags often include Stevens. Flavour is classic sharp cranberry. Vine vigour and productivity reshaped cultivar maps after mid-century releases. Manage water and sanding per regional bog practice for best colour.
