Fruit
McFarlin
A tier
McFarlin is a large-fruited historic cranberry cultivar once prized for berry size in fresh and whole-sauce presentation—later midseason timing, solid red colour, and a place in twentieth-century bog rosters. Acid remains bracing. Larger berries show well floating in holiday sauce. Prefer for whole-berry sauces where size reads luxurious. Yields and disease profiles led many growers toward Stevens, but McFarlin genetics and name persist in older beds. Handle large fruit gently to avoid bruising before process.
