Popcorn
A tier
Popcorn is a flint-related type with a hard moisture-sealed hull and dense endosperm that explodes when internal steam flashes to vapour. Kernel size is small; colours include yellow, white, and red specialty lots. Oil or air popping yields the familiar snack foam; unpopped stones are failed seals or wrong moisture in storage. Store sealed at proper moisture near thirteen to fourteen percent. Stovetop oil popping browns flavour; air popping is leaner. Butterfly flakes suit bagged snacks, mushroom flakes suit candy coating. Not interchangeable with sweetcorn on the cob at any stage.
