Tenderstem

Vegetable

Tenderstem

S tier

Tenderstem is a branded stem broccoli (broccolini-class) crossing heading broccoli with Chinese kale (gai lan) for long slender stems, small florets, and near-entirely edible length. Texture stays crisp-tender after quick high heat; flavour is sweeter and less cabbage-heavy than thick Calabrese stalks. The name is a commercial mark in some markets; similar genetics sell as broccolini elsewhere. Ideal for stir-fry, char-grill, and whole-stem steaming—no floret-only waste. Trim only dry ends. Overcook and the slender stems collapse faster than dense heads.
