Bluecrop is the classic midseason highbush workhorse—productive, adaptable, and balanced sweet-tart with medium-large berries that built much of twentieth-century US blueberry acreage. Flavour is the familiar “default blueberry” for many consumers. Freezes and bakes dependably; fresh quality is good if not overheld. Plants are vigorous and forgiving compared with finicky premium cultivars. Still widely planted even as newer varieties compete. A reference midseason for taste comparisons.
