Non-Alcoholic Beer
Non-alcoholic beer (typically ≤0.5% ABV) is brewed then dealcoholised, or produced to limit alcohol formation—malt, hop, and yeast character aim to resemble lager or ale without intoxicating strength. Quality varies from thin and sweet to convincingly hoppy. Useful when recipes need beer moisture and malt without alcohol: batters, long braises for all ages, and workplace-safe cookery demos. Flavour can be wort-sweet; balance with salt and acid. Not identical to alcoholic beer in browning behaviour.
