Schwarzbier
Schwarzbier is a German black lager—dark colour with surprisingly light body, roast and cocoa notes, and clean lager fermentation rather than ale fruitiness. Bitterness is moderate; the finish is dry enough for food pairing without stout weight. Excellent with grilled meats, mushrooms, and chocolate desserts where roast character helps without heavy sweetness. In the pan it behaves like a light dunkel with more coffee-cocoa edge.
