Conlon

A tier

Conlon is a two-row malting barley developed for North American conditions—spring growth habit, good malt quality, and adaptation that made it a recognised name on the US Northern Plains and similar latitudes. Malt from Conlon tends toward clean, lightly sweet base character suitable for craft lagers and ales. It represents the American two-row breeding stream versus older six-row mainstays. Specify Conlon when a maltster offers single-variety American two-row. Home and craft brewers use it as dependable base malt. Unmalted Conlon grain is uncommon in food retail under that name.
