Fruit
Red Banana
A tier
Red banana covers maroon-to-purple skinned dessert clones with cream-to-pale-orange flesh, soft texture, and a sweet flavour often described as berry-tinged or more aromatic than Cavendish. Size is shorter and plumper; peel colour stays reddish even as fruit softens, so give is the ripeness test. Flesh can look slightly salmon when fully ripe. A visual specialty for fruit bowls and markets; taste is genuinely different, not only cosmetic. Mash into pancakes or eat plain. Less common in bulk export but regular in tropical local trade and ethnic greengrocers.
