Green Globe is the classic large green artichoke of California and Mediterranean markets—rounded buds, thick bracts, and substantial hearts that define steamed artichoke service with drawn butter or aioli. Flavour is full and nutty; size impresses on the plate. Spines are moderate on modern lines. Steam whole until a bract pulls free easily; grill halved after par-cook. The default “supermarket artichoke” shape. Choose tight, heavy buds.
