Perfection is an early-mid large apricot with light orange freestone flesh and mild flavour that paved the way for later firm commercial types. Fruit can lack the sugar-acid fireworks of elite dessert cultivars if cropped too heavily or picked early, yet size impresses on the tree. Skin is pale orange with limited blush compared with flashier modern releases. Useful where an early large apricot is needed for local sales and light processing. Thin fruit for better eating quality. Historical importance in breeding exceeds its current gourmet reputation.
